ITINERARY

Day One & Two
Board evening flight from Los Angeles to Florence with a connection in Barcelona.

Day Three
Our local guide, will introduce you to artistic riches of the city that stood at the heart of the Renaissance. See Michelangelo’s David, the church of Santa Maria Novella, including Brunelleschi’s dome and Ghiberti’s Gates of Paradise at the Baptistery. Discover the famous piazza’s scattered throughout the city.

Day Four
Today is an exciting visit to the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Be sure to visit the beautiful chapel and baptistery that stand in its shadow, or if you wish, climb the famous tower itself.

Lucca is known as one of the Italian's "Città d'arte" (Arts town), thanks to its intact Renaissance-era city wallsand its very well preserved historic center. See the Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, which has its origins in the second half of the 1st century A.D. and the Guinigi Tower, a 45 meters tower that dates from the 1300s. Next, travel to the beautful seaside La Spezia.

Day Five
Cinque Terre is a costal area within Liguria and comprises of five breathtaking villages and are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You cannot reach these by road - only train or ferry. Pastel-fronted houses, seafood trattorias, and colorful fishing boats are just some of the sites you will see here!

Day Six
The famous hill town of Assisi is located in Umbria. This charming village is flanked by ruins of a medieval castle on one end and the stunning Basilica of St. Francis on the other. Learn about the beloved St. Francis of Assisi, of whom the current Pope took his name. St. Francis taught anti-materialism, humanism, equality and love. You’ll want to capture every moment of your stay in this picturesque “Italian hill town”.

Day Seven
Today is a packed day in Rome, you will tour the ancient Colosseum and Roman Forum,. Next, you will visit Trevi Fountain, Spanish steps, and Piazza Navona. (B)

Day Eight
This morning, you will visit the Vatican Tour and the outstanding Vatican Museum inthe world's smallest fully independent nation-state. You will also see the majestic St. Peter’s Basilica and stand in awe of Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel. This afternoon, you will visit the visitor’s center of the Rome Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and see the stunning rotunda featuring a replica of Thorvaldsen’s Christus with the 12 of the original apostles as found in the Church of Our Lady in Copenhagen, Denmark. (B)

Day Nine
This morning we fly non-stop back to Los Angeles. Due to the time change, we will arrive in the early evening on the same day. Welcome Home!
